Strengthen, create, manage, and promote creative projects that contribute towards the development of local arts, the economy, communities and international relations.
ATi identified a cultural and economic disconnect between the cities/suburbs and the townships, the international creative economy and now is building a diverse range of creative products that will use the existing facilities within the associated companies & communities to develop an ecosystem for township creative industries, bridging the gap that exists between different disciplines and different communities within countries around the world.
ATi collaborates across genres, bridges between communities and develops bespoke artist solutions.
ATi is focused on consolidating, sustaining and expanding the products of Townships and Arts on a National and International level.
ATi is positioned to manage projects of visual and performance art, tourism, social and environmental growth and empowering its resident communities on an urban, rural, national and global platform.
The Community Creative District
Imagine a township street that is vibrant and inviting with homes on either side open all year round to visitors as galleries performance spaces, museums, home innovation laboratories and flowing with the sights, sounds and flavors’ of working people from the community, the city and further abroad exchanging stories and ideas, foods, training, history and culture.
Imagine the business concerns in each of these homes is operated sustainabl by residents who are skilled in the contemporary production and curation of visual and performing arts and the effective management of co-operative businesses, with reciprocal access to a network of visitors, artists and other communities from around the city, the country and the world.
These are ATi’s community Creative Districts. These creative districts are open to the public year round and hold annual public arts festivals. Township creative districts are furthermore networked with ‘sister townships/communities’ from around Africa and the world at large broadening access for its residents and artists to opportunities, ideas and resources from the international creative industries and creating a viable ecosystem (ecological and economic) for the Arts to create meaningful transformation in those communities.
ATi founders have designed its activities to provide the perfect platform for strengthening and developing South African Arts and Culture. Its strategy is to consolidate and stabilise the arts and therefore promote self-sustainability. ATi is contributing to the transformation of the arts through enhancing the exposure of under-represented talent in the industry, most obvious in the absence of high art and representation in the creative industry. ATi creates employment opportunities in the performing arts, supports the works of emerging artists, develops communities and promotes the arts within the tourism sector. ATi dynamically impacts the South African community with an amalgamation of skills, youth development, employment opportunities and artistic creation, improving the society with professional planning, management and accountability.
